Contagious Generosity - He Gave

One person’s initial generosity can spark a chain reaction of good. Same can be said about God and His generosity of offering His Son Jesus Christ. God gave His One and Only Son so others can have a better life. Happier life. Eternal Life. John 3:16 NCV God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. God sets the example for us to follow. He gave...so others can receive. For it is in giving that we receive. Proverbs 11:25 The man who gives much will have much, and he who helps others will be helped himself. When you give to God...you will always have enough. Enough finances - fortitude - friends - fun - favor. The widow from the New Testament gave all she had. Mark 12:41-44 Then he sat down opposite the offering box, and watched the crowd putting coins into it. Many rich people were throwing in large amounts. 42 And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, worth less than a penny. 43 He called his disciples and said to them, I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the offering box than all the others. 44 For they all gave out of their wealth. But she, out of her poverty, put in what she had to live on, everything she had. Jesus points out that the widow gave more than then the rich gave. The rich gave from surplus and the widow gave from sacrifice. Jesus comments on giving shows us that the value of a gift is determined by what it cost the giver. The value of our giving is not determined by its amount, but by the sacrifice in which it is given. To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift. God sets the standard - benchmark when He gave (sacrificed) His one and only son so others can receive. The widow had two coins and gave them both. She could have kept one coin for herself yet she gave both knowing the privilege of giving to God. Whatever we give sacrificially to God, He sees it and is pleased. Hebrews 13:16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Whatever we give sacrificially to God, He sees it and is pleased. Our bank account does not determined joy, peace, laughter & love we have in heart & home We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. Luke 6:38 Give, and you will receive. You will be given much. Pressed down, shaken together, and running over, it will spill into your lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you.
