Galatians 5:22 But the fruit that the Spirit produces in a person’s life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Third fruit ...peace. Peace is generally associated with happiness and healthy core. Peace is a disposition free from the effects of stress and anxiety. You cannot find peace by avoiding life. Three words that sums up life...it goes on. Mother Theresa has some thoughts about life...life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is intense. We can fly as high as a kite one moment and slump to the floor the next. But one thing we can be assured in our highs and lows ...teachings from the Word of God provides believers the ability to sustain a healthy tempo flow. In all areas. At home. At work. At school. In the good. In the bad. In the ugly. Lets look at what the bible teaches about peace. John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
What did Jesus mean ...Peace I leave with you
During this time...when people would depart from each other...they would say peace be with you.
But as time went on it was changed to May God be with you. Ultimately shorten to good bye.
One writer writes nowadays it simply means ... I must be going. When Jesus made this statement he was huddling with His disciple prepping them on His departure. Jesus was coaching his disciples how to live in an intense world where daily there are punches. So to counter the punches -Jesus leaves us peace -peace I leave with you -I give you. Not as the world gives The world defines peace as the absence of conflict. There is no such thing. We are either fighting ourselves, moods, co-workers, family, unsettled bills, the enemy The only place where there is absence of conflict. Cemetery.
