Why God Tests?
a long time ago.
Updated a long time ago.
James 1:2-4 Nearly all men can stand adversity but if you want to test a man’s character give him power. Genesis 39:6-9. Potiphar’s wife made a move on Joseph. Joseph refused with an explanation that she is married; it is wrong and a sin against God. Potiphar’s wife is not taking no for an answer. Genesis 39:10-12 Joseph ran out of the house so fast. 2 Timothy 2:22 Run from temptations that capture young people. Always do the right thing.
Speaking about tests... Two interesting questions?
#1 Does God sometimes test our faith by letting hard times happen to us? If so, why does He do it?
#2 Doesn't God already know whether or not our faith is genuine?
God tests our faith. He tested the faith of the Israelites in the wilderness. Deuteronomy 8:2 God does not architect scenarios to test us. Everyday life offers scenarios for tests. Tests reveal what’s inside us. Is our trust in God ...rhetorical or real? Is it talk or walk?
Lesson gleaned from Joseph. Tests are part of our spiritual growth & maturation process. The great news is we have the master answer keys for tests... Always do what pleases God. Run away from temptation.
1 Corinthians 10:13
How can I respond to tests of life like Joseph?
Pray for God’s wisdom, guidance & strength.
Memorize 1 Corinthians 10:13 Any temptation you face will be nothing new. But God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can handle. But He always provides a way of escape so that you will be able to endure and keep moving forward.
If need be...run.
